Sunderland Youngster Is Gathering Interest From The Football League: Should Le Bris Let Him Go? | OneFootball

In a recent report, journalist Alan Nixon stated that Sunderland youngster Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi is gathering interest from the Football League. It is understood that Bradford City, Luton Town and Fleetwood Town are all eyeing a move to sign the Belgian striker from the Black Cats next year.

Samuel-Ogunsuyi’s Impressive Rise In English Football

Samuel-Ogunsuyi has come through the youth ranks of the Wearside club and has done well to break into their first team recently. The 19-year-old has made one senior appearance for the Black Cats so far but is still waiting to score his first goal for them.

The Belgian talent is currently one of the most gifted young strikers in English football. Hence, it is no surprise that so many Football League clubs are trying to sign him next year.

His current contract at the Wearside club will run out at the end of this campaign, so Sunderland have no choice but to let him leave on the cheap this January or on a free transfer at the end of this campaign.

Should Sunderland Boss Regis Le Bris Let Samuel-Ogunsuyi Go?

Samuel-Ogunsuyi excels at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He can create the odd chance for his teammates to find the back of the net and is also quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

Standing at 1.90, the Belgian sensation can use his strong frame to win some 50-50 aerial duels for his side. Samuel-Ogunsuyi is primarily a centre-forward but can also fill in as a winger on either flank if told to do so by his manager. He is currently on the verge of serving as a good rotational piece in Regis Le Bris’ senior squad.

However, Samuel-Ogunsuyi is currently on an expiring contract. Thus, Sunderland would be powerless to stop him from leaving when his contract runs out next summer.

At 19, Samuel-Ogunsuyi has the potential to be a future star in English football. Hence, the Black Cats would be wise to try and tie him down to a new contract. However, if the Wearside club fail to do so, Le Bris would have no other option but to let him go this January or at the end of this campaign.
