Sunderland’s strongest starting XI by transfer value has been set out as the club pursue a late push for Europe in their first season back in the Premier League.

They head into the final four matches seeking a response to back-to-back losses, a late setback at Aston Villa then a heavy home defeat to Nottingham Forest on Friday night. They sit 12th in the Premier League, three points shy of the top seven.
