Liverpool had a major offer from Saudi Arabia for Darwin Nunez back in January, as exclusively revealed by Anfield Watch. Al-Hilal were the club in for him - they were willing to pay around £70m for the Uruguayan.
Liverpool said no, however, as they didn't want to lose a first-team regular mid-season. There are no such qualms this summer and Nunez is free to leave.
But there has been an issue with the deal. Al-Hilal turned their sights to Victor Osimhen, who is expected to leave Napoli permanently.
They've pushed and pushed for a deal but, per journalist Buchi Laba, Osimhen has finally turned down the move. He wants to remain in Europe with a top club and compete for honours.
