Okay, that last part may have been falsified, but it’s hardly an exaggeration. Ever since PSG were purchased by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011, they have dominated the top-flight of French football, winning 11 of the last 13 Ligue 1 titles—including the last four.

The arrival of Luis Enrique as manager has seen PSG extend the gap between them and the rest, with Les Parisiens finishing nine points clear in 2023-24 and 19 points clear in 2024-25. And with a star-studded squad featuring the likes of Ousmane Dembélé, Vitinha, Desire Doué, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, there’s reason to believe that the reigning UEFA Champions League winners and FIFA Club World Cup finalists will continue their domestic supremacy.

But just for the sake of it, let’s imagine a season where PSG get hit with a rampant injury crisis, or suddenly drop off in form. Then, which teams would be best suited to push them for the Ligue 1 crown? Today, we’re taking a look at the teams that are most likely to pose a challenge to PSG in 2025-26.
