Leeds is mourning Terry Yorath, who has died aged 75. He emerged from the club’s academy to make 198 appearances during one of its most successful eras.

The club said in a statement that it would remember him fondly on and off the pitch and was devastated by his passing, adding he would always be a club legend and offering sincere condolences to his family and friends.

In tribute, this retrospective revisits archive images, from a jubilant Elland Road champion parade in the 1973-74 season with Yorath at the centre, to quieter moments.

A family photograph shows him at home with wife Christine, daughters Gabby, four, and Louise, three, and one-year-old son Daniel.

Another image captures Yorath as Huddersfield Town coach at the McAlpine Stadium.

There is also a reunion shot of Leeds greats at Elland Road with models of the Don Revie statue, featuring Allan Clarke, Peter Lorimer, Norman Hunter, Paul Reaney, Trevor Cherry, Eddie Gray, Mick Bates and Yorath.

And from 1972, Leeds skipper Billy Bremner drives off at United’s annual golf tournament in Wetherby, with Billy McGinley, Jimmy Mann and Yorath watching.
