The English clubs with the most European trophies as Chelsea make history

Chelsea became the latest English club to win a European trophy this week and in doing so created a unique piece of history.

The Blues came from behind to beat Real Betis in the Uefa Conference League final, making them the first club to complete the full set of major Uefa competitions.

The trophy will sit in a burgeoning cabinet that also includes two Champions Leagues, two European Cup Winners’ Cup and two Europa Leagues. They’ve also won a pair of Uefa Super Cups.

That takes Chelsea‘s total of major European trophies to nine, although they still lag behind Premier League rivals Liverpool, who remain far and away ahead of the pack on 13.

Manchester United have won a total of six European trophies, with half of them being the European Cup/Champions League. They have also won one each of the Europa League, Cup Winners’ Cup and Super Cup.

Eight other clubs from England have lifted silverware in Europe on multiple occasions, including Spurs who beat Man United to win the Europa League this season, while Ipswich Town and Everton have just the one European trophy each.
