Everton have 10 first-team footballers heading off for international duty this month, with fingers crossed that a threadbare squad is not reduced by injuries during the break.

The Toffees had just four representatives at the World Cup in the summer, but the return of the UEFA Nations League has increased the international involvement of Everton names.

Everton have three players in the England squad for the first time since November 2020, with Jordan Pickford, Jarrad Branthwaite and James Garner all involved. Branthwaite is back in the mix for the Three Lions and hoping to earn his first cap since 2024, while Garner was a late inclusion after Declan Rice and Kobbie Mainoo withdrew.

England face world champions Spain in their Nations League opener on Saturday evening, before fixtures with Czechia (September 29th and October 6th) and Croatia (October 3rd).

Tom King and Brennan Johnson are both with Wales, while Jake O’Brien and Vitalii Mykolenko are set to represent the Republic of Ireland and Ukraine respectively.

Elsewhere, Braiden Graham is with Northern Ireland and Tyler Dibling, Tyrique George (England u21) and Harrison Armstrong (England u20s) have all been selected for the upcoming break.
