Wolves are set for a sensational reunion with Raul Jimenez, rekindling a bond forged across five eventful years at Molineux.

Jimenez arrived on loan in 2018 after promotion, heading a debut equaliser against Everton. He ended that season with 17 in 44, including four in an FA Cup run to the semi-finals.

He struck in the 2-1 defeat of Manchester United to book Wembley. Wolves then made his move permanent in what was believed to be a club-record £30 million, on a four-year deal to 2023. At Wembley he scored on 62 minutes, celebrated with a Sin Cara mask, but Watford hit back to win 3-2 after extra time.

Under Nuno Espirito Santo, Wolves finished seventh and returned to Europe. Jimenez thrived alongside Diogo Jota and was voted Players’ Player of the Season.

He led Wolves to the Europa League quarter-finals, where Sevilla advanced, and they finished seventh again. He also scored in the 3-2 win over Manchester City on 27 December 2019.

A fractured skull at Arsenal in November 2020 halted him until 2021/22. He is Wolves’ record Premier League scorer with 40. He left in 2023 with 57 overall after a final home game, and Julen Lopetegui said he should have given him 10 minutes. In May he returned and received an ovation, and said there was a possibility of a comeback.
