The England international hasn’t featured this season after suffering an ACL injury before the start of the campaign.

Colwill is back in full training and is getting closer to a return, with Chelsea reportedly still hopeful he’ll feature before the end of the season.

Levi Colwill unlikely to be in squad against Nottingham Forest

Colwill played 90 minutes for the under-21s against Middlesbrough last week, and came through the game unscathed, in a huge boost for both him and Chelsea.

There’s a possibility he could play for the under-21s again on Friday against Tottenham, but a decision on that hasn’t yet been taken.

The Blues have missed Colwill, and they kept their first clean sheet on Sunday against top flight opposition since January.

With five games left this season including the FA Cup final the clock is ticking on a return to the first team, but one thing Chelsea won’t do is rush the 23-year-old.

Chelsea play Forest at Stamford Bridge on Monday, but The Sun have reported it’s highly unlikely he’s risked in the squad.

The report adds whilst the possibility hasn’t been completely ruled out, there’s an expectation Chelsea will continue to take their time.
