Several high-profile football personalities have also jumped onto what the club says is a “project of passion with renewed ambition” such as former German World Cup winners Thomas Müller and Mats Hummels, Switzerland international goalkeeper Yann Sommer and PSG left-back Lucas Hernández.

The business group reportedly paid 40 million euros for the 90 percent share of the capital, which makes it a record sale for a Portuguese football SAD (sports PLC).

Estrela da Amadora hereby announces the completion of the acquisition of a 90% majority stake in the club’s SAD (sports public limited company) by an international consortium led by ADvantage and LEAD, with the support of the KI Group.

The new shareholder structure brings together investors with experience in sports, investment, and technology, and includes a group of strategic investors linked to international football, such as Thomas Müller, Mats Hummels, Yann Sommer and Lucas Hernández.

Following the completion of this process, Johannes Mösmang has taken on the presidency of CFEA – Club Football Estrela, SAD, succeeding Paulo Lopo.

Johannes Mösmang joins Estrela da Amadora after a decade-long tenure at FC Bayern Munich, where he worked in the professional players’ department, collaborating closely with executives, coaches and players.

The new president begins this new chapter with the ambition of contributing to Estrela da Amadora’s sustainable growth while preserving the club’s identity, values and deep connection to the city of Amadora and its fans.

“Estrela da Amadora is a historic Portuguese football club with deep roots in Amadora. It has a unique identity and a passionate community. It also possesses a very special feature: ownership of its own stadium. We are highly motivated to start this new chapter and to build a project that the fans, the community, and everyone associated with Estrela can be proud of, in a disciplined and sustainable manner,” states Johannes Mösmang.

The new management board aims to focus its project on the club’s sporting and institutional development, prioritising people, infrastructure, youth development, innovation and the creation of conditions for sustainable and competitive growth.

In this new chapter, Estrela da Amadora will also benefit from the knowledge and international experience of its new partners, particularly in the areas of investment, technology and digital transformation.

The KI Group, which has an established presence in Portugal and experience in developing technological and artificial intelligence solutions, will be one of the club’s strategic partners in this transformation process.

Above all, Estrela da Amadora’s new leadership aims to respect the club’s history and identity, keeping the city of Amadora and its fans at the heart of every decision while striving to build a solid, sustainable future for the club.

CF Estrela Amadora also takes this opportunity to thank Paulo Lopo for his work over the past six years and his contributions to the club, especially the role he played in Estrela’s return to the Primeira Liga.

The club thus begins a new chapter in its history, maintaining its identity and passion while embracing a renewed ambition for the future.
