Barcelona have decided to let Pablo Torre leave the club, as he is all set to join Mallorca in a permanent move worth €5 million.
This deal marks the end of Torre’s time at Barça, where he struggled to secure a spot in the first team. Neither Xavi nor Hansi Flick gave him a proper chance to show his talents, and he often found himself on the fringes of the squad.
Despite this tough period, the Barcelona staff still believe Torre can become a special player in the future. That is why, even though they are selling him now, they have made sure to include several clauses in the deal.
These clauses will let the club benefit if Torre blossoms into a star down the line. Earning around €5 million from his sale is good for the club’s finances, but Barça are thinking long-term too, protecting themselves if he grows into a top player elsewhere.
With Torre leaving, doors open up for young talents from Barcelona’s youth academy. This will give promising players like Toni Fernandez, Guille Fernandez, and Juan Hernandez a chance to step up and impress in the first-team setup.

Toni is the youngster who looks most ready to step in. At just 16, he has already tasted first-team action, having made his official debut in the Copa del Rey match against Barbastro.
Last summer, he was one of the standout performers during Barcelona’s pre-season tour, and he continued to train with Flick after returning.
While he made it into several matchday squads, he did not get the chance to play in La Liga. Still, the experience was invaluable for him.
This year, Toni turns 17 and even at his young age, he has been a bright spot for Barça Atletic during a difficult season.
In his central midfield role, Toni showed his strengths, making smart passes, linking up well with teammates, and taking powerful shots with his excellent left foot.
Hansi Flick clearly sees Toni’s potential. Last pre-season, Flick included him regularly, and with the new preseason set to begin on July 13, Toni will again train under the German coach.

Apart from Toni, Guille and Juan will also be training with the first team. Both youngsters are still considered youth players for next season, but they will get a full two weeks of preparation with Flick.
If they perform well, they could secure a spot on the team’s tour of Asia, giving them even more valuable experience.
Juan played an important role in the youth team’s strong season and can be used both as a winger and a midfielder. His versatility is a big plus for Flick.
Meanwhile, Guille is a more traditional central midfielder who stands out for his technique, ball control, and ability to shoot from a distance. The club will be watching both players closely to see if they can handle the step up.
It is to be noted that Torre’s exit isn’t the only reason opportunities are opening up. The confirmed departure of Ansu Fati and the likely exit of Pau Victor means that several spots in the squad are now free.
This creates even more chances for young players to show what they can do during preseason and make their mark under Flick.
