Tigres ‘to monitor’ Memphis as Corinthians pursue renewal | OneFootball

Memphis Depay’s Corinthians contract ends on 31 July, with renewal talks ongoing.

Tigres Mxnda claims Tigres are monitoring his situation if he does not extend, seeing him as a potential successor to André-Pierre Gignac, who is leaving.

He is on holiday after the Netherlands’ World Cup exit and is unlikely to rejoin daily training before expiry unless negotiations advance.

Corinthians have three Campeonato Brasileiro matches before then, against Remo on 23 July, Bahia on 26 and Athletico-PR on 30. His registration must also be corrected with the São Paulo FA after it was mistakenly listed as ending in June.

Last month the club offered a proposal without external backing, including a pay cut, revised terms and instalments on bonus arrears of about R$ 43 million. Talks are tense due to outstanding amounts, though Memphis is open to staying at Parque São Jorge.

Since arriving in September 2024 on a free, he has played 79 games, scoring 20 with 15 assists, and won the 2025 Copa do Brasil, the 2025 Paulista and the 2026 Supercopa. In 2026 he missed around two months with a right thigh injury and has 14 outings so far, one goal and one assist. He came off the bench in all four World Cup matches for 70 minutes and one assist, and Corinthians face Cascavel in a friendly on Sunday 12 at 16:00 at Estádio Olímpico Regional in Paraná.
