Tolu Arokodare has challenged media claims surrounding a cancelled Wolves training session.

Boss Cesar Peixoto is understood to have halted Monday’s session at Compton Park after Arokodare refused to leave the first-team group. The player said in a post that many of the reports were inaccurate and that he remains committed to training professionally.

Arokodare was not involved in Wednesday’s 1-0 friendly win at Maidenhead United.

The 25-year-old is widely expected to depart Molineux this summer and is believed to prefer Fiorentina after turning down Trabzonspor.

In his message, he stressed pride in professional conduct and high training standards. He said his focus is to be ready to help team-mates and the club whenever called upon, and to meet his Wolves contract by training, doing his job and contributing to the team.

He joined from Genk for £24million last summer but scored only three Premier League goals as the club were relegated. In April, he faced disciplinary action after a dressing-room bust-up with team-mate Mateus Mane during a 4-0 defeat at West Ham, in which he was the sole aggressor.
