Tolu Arokodare has rejected reports about a halted Wolves training session, calling them inaccurate. According to ExpressAndStar.com, Cesar Peixoto is understood to have stopped Monday’s work at Compton Park after the striker refused to leave the first-team group.

Arokodare was left out of Wednesday’s 1-0 friendly win at Maidenhead United. The 25-year-old is widely expected to leave Molineux this summer and is believed to favour Fiorentina after turning down Trabzonspor.

He addressed the controversy on social media, saying he was surprised and disappointed by coverage he considers inaccurate. He stressed pride in his professionalism and training standards, and said his focus is to be ready to contribute whenever called upon.

He added that he remains under contract with Wolves and intends to meet his responsibilities by training, doing his job and contributing to the team in line with that agreement.

Arokodare joined from Genk for £24 million last summer and scored three Premier League goals as Wolves were relegated. In April, he faced disciplinary action after a dressing-room bust-up with team-mate Mateus Mane during a 4-0 defeat at West Ham, in which he was the sole aggressor.
