Tony Popovic extends Australia contract to 2027 | OneFootball

Tony Popovic will remain Australia head coach until 2027, keeping him in charge through the next Asian Cup, which will be staged in 2027 in Saudi Arabia.

The federation announced the extension as the World Cup approaches. Popovic, a former Socceroos defender with 56 caps and seven goals, has led the national side since 2024.

Appointed in September 2024, he steered Australia to World Cup qualification after a difficult start to the campaign.

His focus is on the World Cup, ensuring the squad are ready and concentrated for their group matches.

The Socceroos open against Türkiye on Sunday at six.
