Torino are closing in on the signing of Lucas Perri, with the goalkeeper’s move finally cleared by Leeds United’s imminent capture of James Trafford.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, relaying news from English journalist Ben Jacobs, Trafford, leaving Manchester City, has completed his medical ahead of a club-record switch to Elland Road.

That deal is the key that unlocks Perri’s departure: the Brazilian, long identified as Torino’s first choice between the posts, had been held back while Leeds searched for a replacement.

Perri set to become Torino’s new first-choice keeper

With Trafford now arriving, Leeds are expected to sanction Perri’s exit, and Torino have been waiting for exactly that green light.

The Brazilian, who joined Leeds from Lyon only last summer, lost his place under Daniel Farke during a difficult debut campaign in England and is now poised for a fresh start in Serie A, where he is set to become Torino’s undisputed number one.

Reports indicate the deal is structured as a loan with an option to buy.
