Torino ‘closing in’ on Lucas Perri as Leeds pursue James Trafford | OneFootball

Torino are pursuing a deal to sign Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri, with the club also working on a move for Manchester City’s James Trafford.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds remain in productive talks with City over Trafford, with figures yet to be agreed, and Perri would not be allowed to leave unless at least one other goalkeeper arrives.

Leeds have already lost two goalkeepers this summer, with the out of contract pair Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier departing. Meslier then joined Arsenal before Darlow signed for Manchester United. That left Perri and the experienced Alex Cairns, with Perri having arrived from Lyon for 16 million euros last summer.

On Thursday, David Ornstein reported that Trafford appeared to be leaning towards a move to Elland Road, with Newcastle United no longer considering him despite prior interest.

On Friday, Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Torino are closing in on Perri, noting Leeds’ growing confidence over Trafford. Fabrizio Romano similarly said Torino are close to an agreement for Perri and that Leeds would then proceed for Trafford.
