Tottenham have ‘held talks’ with former Monaco manager Adi Hutter about succeeding Igor Tudor, with the head coach’s position increasingly uncertain as Spurs sit 17th in the Premier League. L’Equipe reports the Austrian has been approached and negotiations have begun.
A 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest refocused scrutiny after a promising win over Atletico Madrid. Spurs are one point above West Ham in the relegation places.
After the Forest loss, Tudor was told his father, Mario, had died, and assistant Bruno Saltor handled media duties. Football London understands a mutual parting is viewed as the most likely resolution, allowing the 47-year-old to prioritise family while the club tackles the relegation fight.
No agreement is in place with Hutter and he has no Premier League experience.
Roberto De Zerbi has been linked, while Marco Rose and Edin Terzic could be revisited after consideration before Tudor’s appointment. Former boss Mauricio Pochettino has also been mentioned but is unlikely to be available immediately, as he is managing the United States until after the World Cup.
Tottenham are not in action again until 12 April, away to Sunderland. They are winless in the league this year, last beating Crystal Palace in December.
