North Londoners were looking for a response after north London derby defeat

There was more attacking intent and energy about Spurs, who twice the lead through Richarlison and then Randal Kolo Muani, but ultimately fell short.

Vitinha netted a hat-trick, and Fabian Ruiz and Willian Pacho both pounced on some sloppy defending, ending hopes of an unlikely comeback that had been sparked by a second for Kolo Muani.

Guglielmo Vicario 5

Harsh on him that he conceded five with the Italian given no real chance for the goals and otherwise only have one save to make. His goal has taken a battering this week.

Pedro Porro 6

Some tough moments against Bradley Barcola and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia but set-piece delivery was brilliant. Shanked clearance gave away corner for fourth goal. Mixed bag.

Cristian Romero 3

Horror show in the second half. Two terrible passes led to PSG goals and then conceded a penalty for handball. Ragged display when Spurs needed calm from their captain.

Micky van de Ven 7

Aggressive when needed in pushing up and comfortable covering out wide. Key on the cover when PSG did break in behind. Relished Spurs’ higher line - this more front-footed approach suits him much more.

Djed Spence 6

Weak defending from corner for fourth goal and his delivery in the final third is too often disappointing. Was largely solid one-on-one though against tricky opposition.

Rodrigo Bentancur 6

Deepest of the midfielders and offered less than those around him. PSG regularly had too much space on the edge of the Spurs box and he needed to do more to get out.

Archie Gray 8

Pushed his case for more minutes. So clever with his runs in behind and reliable when he gets in those positions too. Diligent defensively too.

Pape Matar Sarr 6

Key to a much-improved Spurs pressing effort, particularly in the first half. Crowded out from Romero’s pass for third PSG goal and should have cleared corner for fourth.

Lucas Bergvall 8

Top display. Spurs have badly missed his drive and powerful running from midfield. Buzzed around the pitch and combined well with Gray.

Richarlison 7

As good as he’s looked in many, many weeks. Strong in holding the ball up and in the right position for his goal. Thrived having a forward partner but tired after the break.

Randal Kolo Muani 9

Sensational against his former club with two goals and an assist. Two thumping finishes and put it on a plate for Richarlison. Physically dominant and clinical - just what Spurs need.

Some sloppy moments on the ball and unable to shore up the midfield as PSG played through Spurs late on.

Mohammed Kudus (Bergvall 76’) 6

Looked bright on the few occasions he got the ball without quite providing the end product.
