Toulouse have confirmed head coach Carles Martinez Novell will leave at the end of the season as his contract expires. The club said in a statement the collaboration would end and not be extended.
The Spaniard arrived as Philippe Montanier's assistant in 2022-2023, a campaign capped by a Coupe de France triumph, then took charge the following summer.
Formerly part of Barcelona's academy set-up, he has steadied the side in Ligue 1, finishing 11th in 2023-2024 and 10th the next season.
After 31 rounds this season, Toulouse sit 10th again. Their Coupe de France run ended in the semi-finals last week with a 4-1 defeat to RC Lens.
Martinez Novell called it a great honour to represent the club, to learn and share its values, and to contribute to its progress. Club president Olivier Cloarec described the move as consistent with the project, while recognising the coach's work. He could take charge at Girona.
