Toulouse have questioned the decision to validate the 0-0 from their abandoned match at Nantes on 17 May. The club said in a statement that it had taken note of the ruling but was challenging its basis, and that it reserved the right to appeal within the regulatory timeframe.
The Ligue 1 final day fixture was halted in the 22nd minute after home supporters entered the pitch, and later abandoned. On Wednesday the LFP disciplinary commission ratified the score as it stood, 0-0.
Toulouse said they regretted the game could not finish in normal conditions and argued they could not have done more to ensure it did. They added they would monitor any potential negative precedents set by the ruling.
There is no sporting or financial impact for Toulouse, but the outcome remains hard to accept internally. They finished ninth, their best league placing since RedBird bought the club in 2020.
The commission also issued Nantes a one match behind closed doors sanction. Toulouse would likely have preferred a 3-0 forfeit victory, yet the commission opted against that.
