Trabzonspor 'open talks' for Bertrand Traoré after Sunderland release | OneFootball

Bertrand Traoré has been linked with a move to Trabzonspor after leaving Sunderland this summer.

Africafoot reports that the club have opened negotiations with the 30-year-old’s representatives as they explore a potential free transfer.

Traoré joined the Black Cats in September last year for around £2.5million on a one-year deal with an option of a further year. The former Chelsea, Lyon, Aston Villa, Villarreal and Ajax forward added top-level pedigree on Wearside.

He made 12 Premier League appearances in 2025-26, scoring once, before being released at the end of the season. Injuries curtailed his involvement and he did not establish himself as a regular starter.

Trabzonspor are assessing attacking reinforcements ahead of the new season and are monitoring his situation. His free-agent status, plus experience across England, France, Spain and the Netherlands, and more than 90 Burkina Faso caps, could appeal.
