Kalajdzic, a £15m signing, suffered a serious knee injury on debut and another while on loan before joining LASK last summer. He rebuilt fitness in Austria. He returns and could feature, though Schalke 04 are weighing up a move.

Dike was released by Albion after four and a half injury-hit years. He returned to score important late goals but was not retained. Seattle Sounders are weighing up a move and MLS looks a likely route for the USMNT forward.

Albion captain Jed Wallace also left after four years. Despite dropping down the pecking order he aided the run-in, and three Championship clubs are tracking the winger.

Villa could face a summer tussle for Morgan Rogers, with Arsenal set to ramp up interest and Chelsea in the frame. A transfer battle has been suggested.

Villa are also linked with Liverpool defender Joe Gomez, who has one year left on his Anfield deal. The England international covers centre-back and full back and is seen as a versatile option.
