Today's transfer rumours include Chelsea and Newcastle United interest in some World Cup standouts.

Chelsea are monitoring AS Monaco strikerFolarin Balogun, who looks set to leave France this summer. Balogun's impressive performances for the United States at this summer's World Cup have seen his stock rise, with Chelsea circling.

Caught Offside claim the Blues are one of several top teams weighing up an approach, with Newcastle United, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and Barcelona also tracking the 24-year-old. Balogun, who scored 19 goals last season, is valued at around €50m by Monaco.

Chelsea's chase for new signings could also see a swoop for Rayo Vallecano left-backPep Chavarría. The Spaniard is seen as a potential replacement for Marc Cucurella, following the latter's move to Real Madrid. Matte Moretto has reported that initial contact has been made, but the Blues face competition from Bayer Leverkusen. The German side are seeking a successor to Alejandro Grimaldo.

Xabi Alonso's side could raise the funds required by offloading Malo Gusto. The French full-back has reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester City, with Gusto keen on a reunion with Enzo Maresca. Foot Mercato claim the sticking point could be the transfer fee.

Over atArsenal, the Gunners have walked away from pursuing Sandro Tonali. The Newcastle midfielder was offered to the Premier League champions, but Arsenal have baulked at his £275,000-a-week wage demands. The Chronicle claim Spurs are now in pole position to strike a deal.

Newcastle United could reinvest some of those funds in Swiss starletJohan Manzambi, say Sky Sports. The Freiburg midfielder has impressed at the World Cup with the national team and is valued at around €50M.

Finally,Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has been offered to AC Milan. The 27-year-old has endured a tough time at Old Trafford, with the club now willing to cut their losses. Ex-United boss Ruben Amorim has reportedly given the 'green light' to a deal which could be worth around €25m.
