Trelew hosts launch of ‘Mapa socioeconómico del fútbol del interior argentino’ | OneFootball

Trelew hosted the presentation of ‘Mapa socioeconómico del fútbol del interior argentino’, compiled by Claudio Salas, at the Liga de Fútbol Valle del Chubut. Organisers said it represents the first comprehensive measurement of football’s economic and social impact across Argentina’s interior.

According to SuperDepor.com, the panel was led by Javier Treuque, league chief, general secretary of the Consejo Federal and AFA vice president, alongside municipal officials Damián Biss, Mariana Medina, Gustavo Underwood and Diego González, and Federico Landau of Chubut Deportes.

The research drew on surveys of more than 6,000 clubs across the 23 provinces.

Salas said the aim was to quantify and analyse the economic activity and territorial impact generated by interior football. He added that the game is also a driver of the economy, inclusion and social identity.

Treuque underlined the role of Patagonian leagues and clubs in difficult contexts and the need to highlight the daily work of interior institutions.

The Trelew event marked the start of a series of presentations in different regions to share the findings and encourage analysis of the sport’s impact on interior communities.
