Maurizio Sarri Must Choose Between Luca Pellegrini & Nuno Tavares

For the most part, the lineup will pick itself, especially with Nicolo Rovella, Danilo Cataldi and Matteo Cancellieri all unavailable due to injuries, and Taty Castellanos returning from a long layoff. According to Il Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Sarri will only have to choose between Luca Pellegrini and Nuno Tavares at left-back.

Following his decent display against Lecce, the Italian will be the favorite to get the nod. His overall performances this season have been more convincing than the Portuguese, who has been struggling to adjust to Sarri’s system, which requires more duties at the back, and a less individualistic approach.

Nuno Tavares Still Has to Prove Himself to Sarri

The former Arsenal man has only recently returned from injury, but is said to be fully fit to start. But the question is whether the manager is willing to entrust him with a starting role against such a dangerous opponent.

On the other hand, Adam Marusic is assured of a starting berth on the other side of the backline, while Mario Gila has apparently overcome his injury scare and should be available to start alongside Alessio Romagnoli.

Matias Vecino Fills in for Rovella & Cataldi

In the middle of the park, Matias Vecino will operate as a makeshift Regista in between Toma Basic and Matteo Guendouzi, while Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has been reinstated in the Serie A squad (at Elseid Hysaj’s expense), but should start on the bench. Finally, Gustav Isaksen and Mattia Zaccagni will flank Boulaye Dia up front.
