U21s Preview: Leeds United vs Norwich City | OneFootball

Leeds United Under-21s return to Premier League 2 action on Monday evening as they welcome Norwich City Under-21s to the LNER Community Stadium.

The encounter marks a swift return to York for Scott Gardner’s side who last week entertained Portuguese side Sporting CP B in the Premier League International Cup.

Fighting from a goal down, the Whites levelled the tie through Harvey Vincent’s clever finish at the back post before defender Reuben Lopata-White headed home a dramatic late winner as United took all three points in their opening group stage fixture.

Vincent’s goal made it two in two for the attacker after he had netted in last week’s PL2 defeat at Crystal Palace. Coming from two behind, Vincent and Jacob Render had restored parity until the Eagles snatched it at the death.

That result in the capital leaves Leeds with a record of two wins and two defeats from their opening four matches this season. Sitting 16th in the standings, Gardner’s side trail 14th place Norwich by just one point.

Last time out, the Canaries impressed as they beat Newcastle United 3-2 on Tyneside, courtesy of a Dylan Jones brace and a first half goal from midfielder Toby Chilvers.

The two teams met towards the end of last term with the hosts leaving it late to record victory through skipper Alfie Cresswell in York.

Action from the LNER Community Stadium gets underway at 7pm.
