UEFA’s Disciplinary Committee is preparing to come down hard on Eintracht Frankfurt after serious incidents involving their supporters during the 2-1 defeat to Barcelona at the newly built Spotify Camp Nou.
According to SPORT, the governing body has already begun reviewing an extensive match report detailing several breaches of stadium safety and fan conduct regulations, with a severe sanction expected in the coming days.
Barcelona had anticipated potential problems after Frankfurt’s supporters caused chaos at the Camp Nou in a previous European meeting.
This time, the club implemented strict security measures to avoid a repeat. Only 2,300 visiting fans were allowed entry, all confined to the designated away section.
Despite these rules, nearly a thousand additional Frankfurt supporters travelled to Barcelona without tickets, hoping to recreate the scenes of the past.
Inside the stadium, those in possession of tickets created significant disorder in the away sector.
Throughout the match, objects and cups of beer were thrown repeatedly, turning the visiting stand into a flashpoint of disruption.

Even more concerning was the use of flares, which several fans managed to smuggle inside despite security checks.
One flare was even launched into an area occupied by Barcelona supporters, though miraculously no injuries were reported.
The confrontational behaviour of the heavily intoxicated Frankfurt supporters led to multiple altercations in the stands, prompting immediate intervention from stewards and increased monitoring by UEFA officials.
As the governing body does not take such incidents lightly, the match delegate compiled a detailed report documenting the events.
This includes information about the types of objects thrown, the frequency of incidents and the exact sectors involved.
Given the club’s recent history of fan-related issues, UEFA is expected to impose a strong disciplinary measure.
The combination of repeated misconduct, safety violations and endangerment of supporters places Eintracht Frankfurt in a difficult position, with the sanction likely to affect their participation or ticket allocation in future European competitions.
