Can Uzun is going to the 2026 World Cup after scoring in Türkiye’s 4-0 friendly win against North Macedonia.
It has been quite a start to June for Can Uzun. On Monday, the Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder was named in Türkiye’s starting line-up and scored the second goal in a 4-0 win against North Macedonia, his first goal for his country in his fifth senior international appearance. Uzun also set up Deniz Gül to make it 3-0. Following the successful friendly in Istanbul, more good news followed for the 20-year-old on Tuesday morning as he was included in the final squad for the World Cup.Third World Cup for Skhiri Ellyes Skhiri, meanwhile, is set for his third appearance at a World Cup with Tunisia after 2018 and 2022. The Eagles of Carthage lost 1-0 in a friendly against Austria on Monday after a goal from Borussia Dortmund’s Marcel Sabitzer. Skhiri played the full 90 minutes in the match that was played in Vienna.Tunisia play their final warm-up game ahead of the World Cup against Belgium this Saturday, and that will see Skhiri come up against club colleague Arthur Theate, who is also in action this evening (Tuesday, 18:00 CEST) against Croatia in Rijeka. Elsewhere, Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab’s Morocco take on Madagascar in Rabat.
