Vahid Halilhodzic suggested on Thursday that six matches without a win was a first in his managerial career, but his past record shows otherwise. Since returning to Nantes on 10 March, he has gone six games without victory, losing to Strasbourg 2-3, PSG 0-3 and Rennes 1-2, and drawing with Metz 0-0, Auxerre 0-0 and Brest 1-1.
According to L'Équipe, this is far from unprecedented across all competitions. In 1994 he endured a 17-match sequence without a win at AS Beauvais between 29 January and 25 May, drawing 10 and losing seven.
In 2002, while at Lille, he had six games without victory between 5 January and 6 February, three draws and three defeats.
His PSG tenure in 2004-05 also featured several barren runs while the club were in the Champions League, including nine without a win from 31 July to 22 September with four draws and five defeats.
There were also two further series of six that season, in November to December and in January to February. Nantes will hope the present streak ends at six when they face Marseille on Saturday at 15:00 in Ligue 1.
