Valencia hope to have Guido available for Friday's trip to the Sánchez Pizjuán, with two games without him having ended in bruising defeats. The visit to Sevilla also carries derby baggage for Guido from his Betis days.

Guido suffered a right quadriceps muscle injury against Betis at Mestalla, leaving the pitch in the 88th minute. According to AS, he has worked with the club's rehabilitation staff since 29 August to be ready in time.

Without him, Valencia lost at Riazor in a result Carlos Corberán considered shameful, then suffered a historic thrashing by Barcelona, the heaviest ever at Mestalla.

Diakhaby's absence leaves Corberán with one natural centre-back, César Tárrega. He can turn to Arnau Martínez on the right of defence and to Pepelu, who has often filled in at centre-back.
