The federation announced that it had released videos of the VAR analysis behind the dismissals of Corinthians duo André and Matheuzinho in the goalless Dérbi against Palmeiras at Neo Química Arena, part of the 11th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
The first red came at 34 minutes of the first half. After a midfield challenge, André grabbed his crotch while facing Andreas Pereira. Referee Flávio Rodrigues de Souza did not initially see the act, then VAR official Daniel Nobre Bins called an on-field review for a possible obscene gesture.
Following the review, the referee sent off André for making an obscene gesture towards his opponent.
At 23 minutes of the second half, Matheuzinho and Flaco López contested the ball and the right-back struck the forward with his hand while trying to free himself. He was booked on the pitch, a second caution that triggered a dismissal, before the VAR recommended a review for possible violent conduct.
After viewing the footage, the referee cancelled the second yellow and issued a straight red to Matheuzinho for a punch. During the check the officials also noted a shove by Gabriel Paulista on Giay, judged not to be to the face.
Palmeiras later complained of a possible penalty for a challenge by Gabriel Paulista on Sosa in the second half. The federation did not release images of that check.
