Vasco da Gama fell short of the trophy, but their 2025 Copa do Brasil run delivered a major cash boost. According to PaponaColina, the club finished with R$ 57.109.500 in prize money despite losing the final to Corinthians at the Maracanã.

The runners-up payout alone was R$ 33.075.000, added to more than R$ 24 million earned across earlier rounds. On the way to the decider, Vasco eliminated União Rondonópolis, Nova Iguaçu, Operário-PR, CSA, Botafogo and Fluminense.

The influx is fundamental to planning for next season, which already has its international calendar defined.

The result confirmed Vasco as Brazil’s final representative in the 2026 Copa Sudamericana, joining São Paulo, Grêmio and Atlético-MG.

The squad now head off on holiday before reporting back for the Campeonato Carioca. Their opener is on 14 January, a Wednesday, against Maricá at São Januário. The first clássico of the year, against Flamengo, follows on 21 January.
