Vasco have announced the departure of midfielder JP to Portuguese club Casa Pia. The club said the 21-year-old leaves on a free, with an option for Vasco to bring him back without a fee in mid 2027.

Should Casa Pia wish to keep him beyond that point, they will need to pay Vasco to acquire his economic rights.

JP had not figured in Pedro Emanuel’s plans and has not featured since the head coach took charge.

In June, Vasco extended the midfielder’s contract to the end of 2028 with a salary rise. He made nine appearances in 2026, four of them starts.

An academy product, JP spent 2025 on loan at Avaí and was well regarded for his Série B displays. He returned for this season and was initially in the plans of former coach Fernando Diniz.

Performances this year did not convince and he slipped down the pecking order, with fellow prospect Ramon Rique moving ahead after standout Copa Sudamericana outings.

JP has been at Vasco since 2019. He made his senior debut in a 2-1 win over Grêmio in 2024 and has played 22 times for the first team.
