Vasco hit by theft of 200-box Nike shipment, part recovered in Rio | OneFootball

A shipment of 200 boxes of Vasco sports equipment was stolen on Wednesday in Rio, causing a loss of about R$ 900,000. Part of the cargo was later recovered as investigations continued.

According to Globo.com, the consignment was due to reach the club’s SAF headquarters in Barra da Tijuca on Wednesday but never arrived. Nike, the kit supplier responsible for transport, reported the incident to Vasco.

The robbery took place on Wednesday morning on the Linha Amarela, one of the city’s main expressways.

On Thursday afternoon, the Delegacia de Roubos e Furtos de Cargas, the DRFC, located part of the stolen load at an access point to Morro do Dezoito, between the neighbourhoods of Quintino and Piedade in the North Zone.

The police investigation remains under way.
