Aston Villa supporters have reacted angrily to a reduced away allocation of fewer than 1,700 tickets for next Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first leg at Nottingham Forest, with the tie set to kick off at 8pm.

ExpressAndStar.com reports that, after discussions between the clubs, the away end has been set at 1,699 for the City Ground fixture, confirmed on Wednesday.

The figure is around 1,300 fewer than Villa received for their Premier League visit earlier this month, a match that finished 1-1.

UEFA regulations require visiting clubs to be allocated at least five per cent of a stadium’s capacity in Europa League games. Forest’s ground holds just over 30,000.

In response, many Villa fans on X urged the club to mirror Forest’s stance for the return on 3 May, limiting the away section to the minimum. Others said there should be no tickets beyond five per cent, while one Forest supporter expressed misgivings and suggested Villa would almost certainly reciprocate.
