Villarreal have limited Levante’s away allocation to 600 for Saturday’s match at Estadio de la Cerámica, kicking off at 14:00. The club said in a statement this is the maximum available under current capacity restrictions.
A sizeable Levante following had been expected for the derby, which carries high stakes for both clubs. Villarreal are pushing to consolidate a top position and move closer to the Champions League, while Levante are battling for survival.
The away section is in the upper part of the Gol Norte and cannot be expanded. This is not a one-off, the same cap has applied since the start of the season for all visiting fans.
The limits follow redevelopment works that reduce usable capacity on matchdays. Although the stadium’s notional capacity is higher, Villarreal cannot use every seat. In practice the club can currently issue 21,332 tickets per game, shaping overall distribution and the away share.
This is why empty seats can appear in some areas, yet they cannot be sold. Those seats fall outside the permitted use under the current rules, so the club cannot release them or increase the away allocation.
Despite high demand for this derby, driven by proximity and the table context, the cap will remain in place. The limitation is one reason Villarreal are working on improvements at La Cerámica to recover capacity and optimise use for members and major fixtures.
