Pepe was named Villarreal’s standout after striking the equaliser against Alavés, earning the highest mark.

In defence, Luiz Júnior took six, with little to do and misfortune for the Alavés goal. Mouriño, also on six, was steady on the right against his former club. Pau Navarro matched that, continuing his progress without major errors.

Rafa Marín received five after a rocky spell before steadying. Cardona, also on five, was pushed by Ángel Pérez and beaten by Ibáñez for the 1-0.

Comesaña earned six, battling without finding the moments or spaces, and he might have scored. Gueye’s five reflected lost duels and a lack of control, with the side improving when Partey came on.
