Vinicius Jr.’s absence has not hindered Real Madrid from winning in recent games, but it is clear that his return will only elevate the already flying attack from the team’s next fixture.
The Brazilian, after all, has spent quite some time on the sidelines in recent weeks serving suspensions and will be available to face Espanyol tomorrow night.
Recent weeks have been turbulent for the youngster, with Saudi Arabia preparing a world-record offer to sign him for astronomical wages. The topic of his future, thus, has been a constant headline across the globe.
Speaking to the club media earlier today, the Brazilian winger opened up on his future amid all the links to Saudi Arabia and confirmed that he wished only to stay at Real Madrid.
“Making history at this club is very important to me and I hope I can continue at Real Madrid for many more years,” he said.
The winger, who recently scored his 100th goal for the club, then spoke on his role models and how even the players he idolised made history as one of the best in the world at Real Madrid.
“Reaching 100 goals with Real Madrid is something I can’t describe. Only 23 players have managed to do it, and among them is Ronaldo, one of my idols,” he said.

“Ronaldo has always given me lots of advice on how to improve in front of goal and how to shoot better. Also Cristiano, who are players I have been able to see and who have marked an era at this club. I hope I can follow in their footsteps.”
Finally, Vinicius spoke particularly about Cristiano Ronaldo and how the Portuguese star’s greatness left him in awe to this day.
“Cristiano scored 451 goals. More goals than games and I was able to see almost all the goals. I have been following him since I was a child.”
So far this season, the 24-year-old has scored eight goals and provided five assists for Real Madrid in La Liga and has an additional seven goals and one assist in the UEFA Champions League.
His form, thus, will be crucial going ahead, especially with Manchester City being their next opponent in the UEFA Champions League.
