Porto B have been depleted by international call-ups and injuries, with nine away on youth duty and six sidelined as training resumed after four days off.

According to O Jogo, it was not only Farioli who saw departures during the international break, as João Brandão returned to work missing a large chunk of his squad.

Gabriel Brás and Gonçalo Ribeiro are with Portugal under-21s, Dinis Rodrigues, Gonçalo Sousa and Tiago Andrade joined the under-20s, and Melnichenko is away with Belarus under-21s.

Bernardo Lima and Mateus Mide received Portugal under-19 call-ups, while Duarte Cunha linked up with the under-18s.

Their absences opened the door for academy trio Filipe Sousa, an 18-year-old defender, Tcherno Jamanca, a 16-year-old forward with 25 goals for the under-17s, and João Brito, a 17-year-old midfielder.

Brandão is also without six injured players, namely Chelmik, Martim Cunha, Yoan Pereira, André Miranda and André Oliveira.
