Vitor Pereira has been dismissed by Nottingham Forest only four months after his appointment, as the club seek a new head coach for 2026/27.

According to Nottingham Post, an email informing the 57-year-old of his sacking arrived at 11.58pm on Tuesday, June 30, minutes before a clause allowing termination expired at midnight. It is understood the decision had been taken on Monday evening, with news emerging on Wednesday afternoon.

The Portuguese signed an 18-month deal in February, becoming Forest’s third manager of 2025/26 after a month-long stint by Ange Postecoglou and a four-month tenure under Sean Dyche.

Pereira kept the Tricky Trees up, but a 16th-place finish was not enough to secure another season at the City Ground.

Oliver Glasner is thought to be lined up as Pereira’s successor in the Midlands, with an official announcement expected imminently.
