Barcelona stormed to a 2-0 win over Real Madrid last night at the Spotify Camp Nou, sealing their place as league champions for the ongoing season in the process.

The match, for the most part, was a one-sided affair as Real Madrid seemingly stopped competing and pressing after Barcelona scored a second goal early in the first-half.

What made the win special, needless to say, was that it helped Barcelona secure the league title right in front of the Real Madrid players’ faces – something that has never happened in the history of the competition.

In France, Paris Saint-Germain were in action against Brest, and on one occasion, manager Luis Enrique asked about the result of the El Clasico.

A Cule by heart, the Spanish tactician did not hesitate in celebrating and his exclamation made it clear how pleased he was with Barcelona winning in Real Madrid’s faces.

“Take it,” he said while referring to Barcelona celebrating on the face of Real Madrid.

After a season that was again disappointing in Europe, the Clasico win will serve to reignite the confidence and energy in the Barcelona dressing room as the team look to reach a hundred points in the competition.

For next season, however, the objective will return to the UEFA Champions League, a competition that Enrique has made his bread and butter with PSG.

After having won the competition last season, his side are again in the final of the event against Arsenal and will face off at the end of the month in the high-octane clash for the title.
