West Bromwich Albion have confirmed a new public address system will be in place at The Hawthorns for the new season. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the upgrade has been welcomed by supporters after long-running issues with stadium audio.

The Albion Assembly, the fan group that meets quarterly, gathered at the stadium last week. Executive director Mark Miles, director of events and experience Tomasz Chadwick, who has moved from head of commercial, and director of operations Chris Harris briefed members on matchday matters.

Minutes said the club are installing the PA, the provider is more than halfway through, and they are confident it will be ready for the start of the season. Harris previously told the Fan Advisory Board on May 14 that work was almost half complete and speakers would start going onto the stadium roofs by the end of this month.

Chadwick added that Albion are set to appoint a dedicated fan experience manager ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The club are also exploring matchday Hawthorns helpers to assist supporters, plus improvements to concourse food and technology such as self-pouring and self-ordering to ease queues. Half-time queues, Wi-Fi, atmosphere, events and concerts, players visiting hospitality areas and roadside digital screens were also discussed.

Members asked if Halfords Lane, closed around 90 minutes before kick-off, could host fan activities. They were told it must reopen quickly in an emergency, so current options are limited to the fan zone at the Birmingham Road corner and the East Stand car park.
