West Bromwich Albion closed a productive week in the Algarve with a professional, workmanlike 4-1 win over Bromley at Estadio da Nora, warmly received by the travelling support.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, head coach James Morrison viewed the display as mixed, pleased with certain elements but unhappy with others, and felt the issues should be straightforward to fix. His verdict underlined the standards he is setting.

The modest CF Ferreiras ground in Albufeira buzzed with a friendly, noisy vibe, with Baggies followers filling the bar opposite well before kick-off.

Earlier, videos showed the Broadway Pub in the old town heaving with hundreds of supporters, while work commitments saw features on Barney Stewart and Max O’Leary finished instead.

A morning stroll became a five-mile round trip towards Alporchinhos and Vila Lara, ending at a striking cove beach between cliffs, a welcome breather after a busy Thursday.

By late afternoon the temperature hit 36C, dinner was a quick burger and chips, then it was an Uber to the stadium for the friendly.

Post-match, local staff and Albion’s media team assisted interviews with Morrison and Jimmy-Jay Morgan, with more to come from both.
