West Bromwich Albion are aiming to complete two attacking signings, with Falkirk striker Barney Stewart a leading target. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the club are hopeful of striking a deal for the 22-year-old while advancing early business in the window.
Albion are also on the brink of landing 20-year-old Jimmy-Jay Morgan from Chelsea for around £1.3 million.
Stewart enjoyed a superb first full season in professional football, scoring 18 in 33. He began the campaign on loan at Dunfermline and was recalled by Falkirk in January.
London-born, formerly with QPR, he moved to Scotland to study and impressed as an amateur with Heriot-Watt University before joining Falkirk in October 2024. His rapid rise is now expected to continue with a move back to England and the Championship, with Albion understood to be frontrunners after speculation first emerged last month.
Asked about the links last month, Stewart described the attention as surreal, said a move would be a big step and a quick rise he would have to handle, but stressed it remained only speculation.
Albion are also close to adding teenage defender Carter Pinnington from Liverpool. Recent windows focused on cutting losses to meet profit and sustainability rules, and the club now have more room to operate.
