Jake Livermore has reacted to the news that former West Brom teammate Matheus Pereira won the Campeonato Mineiro final with Cruzeiro
Jake Livermore has reacted to a major feat that his former West Bromwich Albion teammate Matheus Pereira has achieved in Brazil.
Pereira helped fire West Brom to promotion by notching eight goals and 16 assists when on loan in their 2019/20 Championship campaign, and joined the Baggies permanently in the summer of 2020.
The Brazil international was then a shining light for Albion in the 2020/21 Premier League season, scoring 11 goals and producing six assists for a side who were ultimately relegated.
Pereira then joined Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal ahead of the 2021/22 campaign, eventually completing his move to Cruzeiro in 2023, following a loan stint with UAE club Al-Wahda.

Pereira was a standout performer on Sunday as Cruzeiro defeated Atletico Mineiro 1-0 in the Campeonato Mineiro final to be crowned as Minas Gerais state champions for the first time since 2019.
The game was ultimately overshadowed by the fact that a whopping 23 players were red-carded for taking part in a mass brawl in second-half stoppage time.
Former Brazil and Porto forward Hulk, now 39, was among those sent off.
Meanwhile, Pereira marked Cruzeiro's triumph via Instagram as he wrote: "Some trust in their chariots of war, and some in their horses, but we trust in the power of the Lord our God. O Lord God, give the victory to the King! Answer us when we call for your help.

When West Brom signed the winger on a loan-to-buy deal in August 2019, then Albion Sporting and Technical Director Luke Dowling told the Baggies official website: "Negotiations have been ongoing for three or four weeks, and we’re obviously delighted to have finally been able to bring in Matheus.
"He has natural flair, but he went on loan and experienced the football in the Bundesliga last year, which showed a different side to his game.
"We hope he will be a player who can have a real effect on the team and one the fans will enjoy watching."
Dowling's hopes came true as Pereira was a star performer for West Brom in both the Championship and the Premier League.
One of his standout moments in Albion colours came in April 2021, when he scored a brace in an entertaining 5-2 top-flight victory over Chelsea.
However, many people associated with the Baggies were left disappointed when the former Sporting man chose to join Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal in the summer of 2021.
As reported by the Independent, ex-West Brom boss Valerien Ismael accused Pereira of not being committed to the Black Country outfit before he sealed his exit.
The Hawthorns faithful will always be disappointed by the fact that the winger's dazzling Albion career ended on a sour note, and their club haven't been able to return to the Premier League since his departure.
It is unlikely that the Baggies would be worried by the threat of relegation to League One if they had Pereira on their side now.
