Shilen Patel continued his visible stewardship of West Brom by attending Friday's draw with Wrexham. According to ExpressAndStar.com, he has taken in as many matches as possible since buying the club, unlike the non-existent previous owner.

The meeting pitted US owners against each other, with Albion facing a Wrexham side owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Honours were even ahead of Albion's trip to Blackburn Rovers on Monday.

Albion will be backed by 7,500 travelling supporters at Ewood Park after being handed a bumper allocation by the hosts.

It is unclear whether Patel will be at that game if he remains in the UK until Monday, though supporters welcomed his presence at another fixture.

Patel was recently praised by fans after the club's accounts showed losses reduced to £17m.

They also revealed he invested £31m across 16 months between the takeover and the end of the accounting period.

The Florida businessman's ownership group has covered £5.2m in interest from MSD loans taken out in the final months of the disastrous Lai regime.

The outstanding balance on those loans, originally £20m and £8m in 2022 and 2023, stands at £25m, with repayment due in December 2026.
