West Ham ‘to submit’ improved offer for Abdul Fatawu | OneFootball

West Ham are set to lodge an improved bid for Leicester City and Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu after an opening offer was rejected, according to Football Insider.

The 22-year-old is yet to report for pre-season with Leicester after playing for Ghana at the World Cup, where they went out in the group stage. He is set to leave this summer following their relegation from the Championship.

Fatawu excelled in the second tier last season, producing 16 goal contributions in 44 games. He first caught the eye on loan from Sporting CP in 2023-24, posting seven goals and 13 assists in 43 appearances as Leicester won promotion and then made the move permanent.

A long-term ACL injury curtailed his first Premier League campaign, limiting him to 11 league outings. He impressed again back in the Championship last term.

Nuno Espirito Santo is seeking additions capable of delivering a Championship title challenge, and Fatawu fits that brief for West Ham. Everton and Sunderland have also been linked, with West Ham seen as at the front of the queue.
