Club América enter the final rounds of Clausura 2026 still chasing the Liguilla and a route into the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup. According to Americayya.net, four of the six Liga MX berths are already taken by Toluca, Cruz Azul, Chivas and Tigres.

There are three ways to secure a place. One is to reach the final, as Toluca and Tigres did in the previous final to claim their slots. The Clausura 2026 finalists are yet to be decided.

Another route is the annual table, which combines Apertura and Clausura 2026. The top two sides not already qualified via the final take places, which have gone to Chivas and Cruz Azul.

The third path is the Leagues Cup, where the top three finishers qualify. These berths are separate from the six awarded to Liga MX teams.

América remain in contention on all fronts. If they reach the final, they qualify directly. Via the annual table, they are fifth behind Tigres, Toluca, Cruz Azul and Chivas, so if any of those make the Clausura 2026 final, the berth would pass to the next best side, currently América.

Their Leagues Cup route would require a third-place finish. The azulcremas therefore still have multiple chances to book a 2027 spot.
