Frank Lampard has been linked with a move away from Coventry City following their Championship title success
Coventry City have earned promotion to the Premier League and the Championship title with it.
Frank Lampard’s side clinched top spot with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Portsmouth midweek, ending their 25 year absence from the top flight.
Work will now begin on planning for life in the division, with the club’s sights set on maintaining their place at that level long-term.
However, speculation has surrounded Lampard’s future at the CBS Arena following his success since taking over in November 2024.
The 47-year-old has been linked with the impending vacancy at Crystal Palace, with Oliver Glasner set to depart at the end of the campaign.
Lampard has also been linked with his former club Chelsea, where he previously spent two stints as head coach, with Liam Rosenior’s dismissal on Wednesday opening the door to a potential return.

King has claimed that Lampard will have choices to make regarding his future, indicating that interest is expected in his services following Coventry’s promotion to the Premier League.
He believes that the former England international has a strong connection with the clubs, the fans and the city, and that he is happy where he is at the moment.
"You can see how emotionally connected [Lampard] is with the city, you can see what it meant to him to get promotion and then the title and I think he's found a happy place at the moment,” said King, via the BBC.
"It doesn't mean there's not going to be some staggering bid for him in the summer and he'll have to make his choices, because he's shown his credentials as a high quality head coach, but I'm not going to comment on that, I can't control it.
"I just think he's happy, I'm happy, everybody's happy, we've just got smiles on our faces and we don't worry about what may or may not happen for the head coach."
Lampard was appointed by Coventry in November 2024, with the former midfielder taking the step down to the Championship after working in the Premier League.
The 47-year-old began his coaching career in the second tier with Derby County in 2018/19, taking the Rams to the play-off final in his single season in charge.
He made the jump to Chelsea in the summer of 2019, where he spent around 18 months in the dugout before being replaced by Thomas Tuchel, who led the Blues to the 2021 Champions League title.
Lampard has successfully rebuilt his reputation after disastrous stints at Everton and then back at Stamford Bridge.
One way or another, he will be working in the Premier League next season and Coventry supporters will be hoping that it is with the Sky Blues.
Lampard has a contract with the Championship winners until June 2027.
Next up for Coventry is a home clash against Wrexham on 26 April in a 12pm kick-off, where the team will get to enjoy the trophy lift as title winners.

Lampard succeeding at Coventry was always going to bring unwanted attention from the likes of Crystal Palace or Chelsea due to his high profile.
It would be disappointing for supporters if he left, but the club would keep ticking on as he is not bigger than the Sky Blues.
Given how things went for him the last time he coached in the Premier League, it also might not be the biggest blow ever either, even if the squad would surely prefer he stayed.
It would be surprising if Lampard jumped ship at this stage given the connection he’s built with the players and the fans, and Coventry can now offer Premier League football next season, which should help convince him to stay.
